The Secret Of The Benjamin Generation Hidden In The cool4Christ™ Christian Apparel Emblem

Filed Under (Clothing) by Kev1 on 19-06-2008

I have been busy liasing and working out some production stuff with my t-shirt factory these past couple of weeks. With God’s blessing, I should be able to launch our first t-shirt design pretty soon. :)

cool4Christ™ Christian Apparel Emblem - The Inner ‘c’

In the meantime, here’s another interesting nugget about a feature of the cool4Christ™ emblem, the ‘c’ facing down. This ‘c’ forms a silhouette personifying the Christian on earth today - The Benjamin Generation!

Why the Benjamin Generation? And what is the Benjamin Generation?

Well, the Benjamin Generation refers to the end-time generation, the generation of believers before Jesus comes again. This generation is marked by God’s grace. Benjamin’s life was a life of undeserved favour and blessings.

When baby Benjamin was born, his mother actually called him Ben-Oni, which means ‘son of my sorrow’. But his father Jacob called him Benjamin which means ‘son of my right hand’ (Genesis 35:18). The Bible says that when our LORD Jesus died on the cross for our sins, He became ‘A Man of sorrows’ (Isaiah 53:3). An when He was raised from the dead, conquering death for us, God raised us up and seated us together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus making us ‘sons of His right hand
(Ephesians 2:6).

Joseph’s first words to his brother Benjamin when he saw him after so many years of separation were words of grace.

29 Then he lifted his eyes and saw his brother Benjamin, his mother’s son, and said, “Is this your younger brother of whom you spoke to me?” And he said, “God be gracious to you, my son.” - Genesis 43:29 (NKJV)

Grace is what the Benjamin Generation is all about.

Then Joseph brought Benjamin and his brothers to eat. And the Bible says that Benjamin’s serving was five times as much as any of his brothers’.

34 Then he took servings to them from before him, but Benjamin’s serving was five times as much as any of theirs. So they drank and were merry with him. - Genesis 43:34 (NKJV)

This generation will have five times more food and drink. ‘5’ incidentally is the number representing God’s grace in the Bible.

Next, Joseph’s silver cup was put in Benjamin’s sack. It was an empty silver cup. Silver in the Bible speaks of redemption. Saving, redemption. Why was it empty? Because Jesus drank all the cup of our condemnation, shame, uncleaness and now there is no more condemnation for you and I.

2 Also put my cup, the silver cup, in the mouth of the sack of the youngest, and his grain money.” So he did according to the word that Joseph had spoken. - Genesis 44:2 (NKJV)

We have been given a message in our sack. The silver cup points to Jesus’ redemption, the finished work of Jesus on the cross. Our message is that there is no more judgement from God, the cup is empty.

And when Joseph told the brothers that Benjamin had to remain, Judah stood up for Benjamin and offered himself instead (Genesis 44:18-34). We are privileged to be the Benjamin generation, because Judah stood up for Benjamin. So this Benjamin Generation will have favour with Jesus, the Lion of Judah, who gave Himself up for us.

Also look what Joseph later gave Benjamin.

22 He gave to all of them, to each man, changes of garments; but to Benjamin he gave three hundred pieces of silver and five changes of garments. - Genesis 45:22 (NKJV)

The three hundred pieces of silver speak of full redemption. And again, we see the number ‘5’, the number of grace. So God provides plenty of food and drink, and plenty to wear for the Benjamin Generation. Cool! We are not like any other generation. We are the Benjamin Generation. Hallelujah! The generation on whom God lavishes undeserved favour and blesses five times more! The generation of the end-times, where we are blessed with the best of all the world (Genesis 45:18-20). Wow… just think about it!

The Victory Of The Cross Emblazoned In The cool4Christ™ Christian Apparel Emblem

Filed Under (Clothing) by Kev1 on 13-05-2008

cool4Christ™ Christian Apparel Emblem - The Upturned Right Hand

In our cool4Christ™ emblem, there is an interesting feature which is the upturned right hand. A couple of posts ago, I shared about the upturned right hand denoting God’s right hand - the hand of power and authority for the Christian. If you haven’t read it yet, do check it out. The upturned right hand at the Cross also denotes the victory that Jesus Christ, through His finished work on the Cross, has accomplished for the Christian. Living this victorious and blessed life is also an integral part of what cool4Christ™ Christian apparel stands for.

What Jesus accomplished on the cross for us was more than our salvation. It was a victory so multi-dimensional yet so complete that we in our natural minds would never comprehend its entirety. It takes revelation to constantly discover more and more of its perfection. Let’s look at this verse.

21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. - 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)

The fact that Jesus became Sin in our place is already so mind blowing, let alone bearing the curse and dying in our place. Just picture an almighty God, pure, righteous and spotless, the creator of heaven and earth becoming Sin itself for us. How that must feel? And for us to be made the righteousness of God! Wow, not just the righteousness of man but of God! Who can be more righteous than God himself? These 2 truths are so awesome that it’s just unfathomable. Would we ever know the full extent of God’s love for us that He did all that just for us? Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary on the Bible says:

Christ knew no sin. He was made Sin; not a sinner, but Sin, a Sin-offering, a Sacrifice for sin. The end and design of all this was, that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him, might be justified freely by the grace of God through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus.

The victory this divine exchange has gained us includes, among other things:

  • our right standing with God, our eternal righteousness based not on our own merits but on Christ our solid and unshakable rock;
  • our restoration in His image, placing us much higher than when man was created and far above all principalities and powers;
  • making us sons and daughters of the most high God and heirs in His kingdom;
  • the removal of power from sin and death that the devil previously had over us;
  • our well being in every area of our lives now that every curse and judgment of the law was fully exhausted in Christ.

None of these of course, would have been complete without Christ’s resurrection. Jesus having risen from the dead demonstrates His overcoming power and His victory. His death was an exorbitant overpayment for the sins of the whole world. His resurrection was an iron-clad guarantee that we are His beneficiaries. Good news? Extremely. Believe and receive. And with cool4Christ™ Christian apparel, wear and declare!

God’s Right Hand Of Power And Authority For The Christian Depicted In The cool4Christ™ Christian Apparel Emblem

Filed Under (Clothing) by Kev1 on 03-05-2008

cool4Christ™ Christian Apparel Emblem - The Upturned Right Hand

An interesting feature to note about the ‘4’ as part of the Cross in the cool4Christ™ emblem is that it is actually formed by an upturned right hand. The upturned right hand at the Cross denotes God’s right hand - the hand of power and authority for the Christian. This is one of the main things that comprises what cool4Christ™ Christian apparel stands for. In the Bible, the hand signifies power and the right hand eminent power. When the hand or right hand is said of God, it denotes Divine power, or omnipotence.

1 The LORD said to my Lord,
         “Sit at My right hand,
Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.” - Psalm 110:1 (NKJV)

62 Jesus said, “I am. And you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” - Mark 14:62 (NKJV)

God is the ultimate authority. The entire universe was created by him, is owned by Him and is under His authority. And He has delegated all authority in heaven and on earth to Jesus.

16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. - Colossians 1:16 (NKJV)

18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. - Matthew 28:18 (NKJV)

This is great news for the Christian because in Christ and as His body, we are beneficiaries of this power and authority. Jesus has conquered all for us and made us more than conquerors. All we have to do is to rest in His finished work.

19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.
22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all. - Ephesians 1:19-23 (NKJV)

Paul’s prayer was that the Ephesian saints be divinely enabled to grasp the infinite power of God in Christ. This passage of scripture focuses on two major points regarding God’s power. Verse 21 and the first part of verse 22 describes God’s omnipotent power which is above all other powers and authorities and is not limited by space and time. The second part of verse 22 together with verse 23 speaks of God’s power exercised on behalf of the church. Therefore as Christians, we can rest easy knowing that God is more than able and ever willing to use His power for us in our every need, and we can reign over every situation in our lives. Wearing cool4Christ™ Christian apparel is a great way to remind yourself of this awesome revelation and I pray that you will experience God’s power work for you in your own life!

Spreading The Gospel To The 4 Corners Of The Earth With Christian T-Shirts

Filed Under (Clothing) by Kev1 on 21-04-2008

cool4Christ™ Christian Apparel Emblem - The '4'

In our cool4Christ™ emblem, you will see the ‘4’ formed as part of the Cross. This ‘4’ signifies the spreading of the Gospel to the 4 corners of the earth and is exactly what we aim to accomplish through our Christian apparel. By the grace of God, we will not miss the mark. As followers of Christ, we are all commissioned by Jesus to take the message of the Gospel to the whole world.

15 And He said to them, Go into all the world and preach and publish openly the good news (the Gospel) to every creature [of the whole human race]. - Mark 16:15 (Amp)

We have a message of hope and life that a crying and desperate world needs to hear. However, approaching a complete stranger and talking about God is agreeably neither an effective nor easy way to reach out to people. You could probably be misperceived as a self righteous person with a ‘holier than thou’ mentality and scare people away. To share your faith without being overbearing, it is better to get individuals to come to you so you don’t have to approach them, especially if it’s someone you don’t already know.

In an increasingly global community, we are constantly exposed to numerous slogans and sayings all around us. And t-shirts are probably one of the biggest mediums of expression ever invented. There’s no reason why Christians shouldn’t effectively utilize this medium with Christian t-shirts. T-shirts are everywhere and the reach of the t-shirt culture extends far and wide, providing an excellent platform for lifestyle evangelism and getting this message out there.

In the Bible, we can see that the apostle Paul at times tuned-in with his audiences culturally. He was not of their world but when he was in it, he used references to the cultures of their day to bring home the message of Jesus Christ and salvation. Christian t-shirts are a great way for us to do the same today.

T-shirt industry estimates indicate that a single t-shirt might be seen about 1000 times in a year, considering that one trip to a shopping mall, festival or sporting event can easily garner 250 impressions. Some also say that during its lifetime of wear, the average t-shirt is read by as many as 3000 people. That’s pretty astounding, don’t you think?

And it’s very good news too, considering that most of us would never get the chance to share The Good News with that many people in our entire lifetime unless we’re a pastor or church professional. All of us as followers of Christ Jesus though, are called to be His ambassadors in sharing the boundless goodness of God’s amazing grace. In Paul’s letter to the Corinthian church, he wrote:

20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. - 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 (NKJV)

Wearing Christian clothing enables us to use our lifestyle to evangelize in one of the most effective yet simple ways; in the places we go to, and to the people we meet as we go about our everyday lives. It is a splendid avenue for us to profess our faith in God and share the good news of the LORD with other individuals around us. As an ambassador, we would want to reflect positively on Him whom we serve and represent our commission well. Every believer can, in effect, be walking billboards for Jesus wearing hip, stylish and quality Christian apparel. The really neat thing about impressively designed Christian t-shirts is their ability to catch the eye, and eventually lead the viewer to read a message about the goodness of our awesome God. It’s often been said that the Christian may be the only ‘Bible’ some people read. Paul says:

3 You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. - 2 Corinthians 3:3 (NIV)

Finding a connection with someone and getting them to be receptive to what you share may not usually be an easy thing to do. But that Christian t-shirt you wear can many times open the door to meaningful conversations with non-believers who like your shirt, which would have otherwise never happened.

It also lets us share and proclaim Christ in more ways than just talking. Sure, we witness and share testimony. But just donning Christian clothing is in itself another way of honoring, praising and worshipping God. If you want to tell other people that there is a higher power watching over humanity, you can sport Christian apparel. The chance to manifest an individual’s great sense of fashion comes as a bonus. :)

Fashion experts tell us that what you wear speaks volumes about you. Your clothes reflect your thoughts and your personality. So why not your faith? We can allow God to use our lives just by being lights; shining beacons in a dark and fallen world, constantly inspiring others and always pointing to Jesus.

Being sons and daughters of the Most High God is a great privilege which we should be proud of. Let your creative side out, dress uniquely, deviate from the norms and make a statement in body, soul and spirit!

Why not let your light shine wearing a Christian t-shirt?

The Finished Work Of Jesus Christ Conveyed Through cool4Christ™ Christian Apparel

Filed Under (Clothing) by Kev1 on 15-04-2008

cool4Christ™ Christian Apparel Emblem - The Cross

The key feature in our cool4Christ™ emblem is the Cross. The Cross represents the finished work of Jesus Christ.  And we aspire to bring this message across in
our Christian apparel.

On the Cross, Jesus took upon Himself all our sins and unrighteousness. He bore all our sicknesses, shame, poverty and every curse that we deserved as sinners and He absorbed the full penalty and judgment of the law until it was fully exhausted.

21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. - 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)

28 After this, Jesus, knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” 29 Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth. 30 So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. - John 19:28-30 (NKJV)

This is an awesome truth that we aspire to convey through our Christian apparel. Here is what Matthew Henry’s Concise Commentary on the Bible says about Jesus’ last words before He gave up His spirit:

Especially observe the dying word wherewith Jesus breathed out his soul. It is finished; that is, the counsels of the Father concerning his sufferings were now fulfilled. It is finished; all the types and prophecies of the Old Testament, which pointed at the sufferings of the Messiah, were accomplished. It is finished; the ceremonial law is abolished; the substance is now come, and all the shadows are done away. It is finished; an end is made of transgression by bringing in an everlasting righteousness. His sufferings were now finished, both those of his soul, and those of his body. It is finished; the work of man’s redemption and salvation is now completed. His life was not taken from him by force, but freely given up.

Today we can thank Jesus for all that He has done for us and we don’t have to go through it ourselves. “It is finished!” sounds the death knell for sin’s power over us. “It is finished!” means the job is done, it can’t be improved upon, it will never need doing over, nor will it ever fade away. Our sins are forgiven and removed from us by faith in Him. We need do nothing. He has done it all. Truly, “It is finished!”

Christian T-Shirts - Make A Statement In Body, Soul And Spirit!

Filed Under (Clothing) by Kev1 on 13-04-2008

Hi blessed ones, it’s been about a week without any posts.  As you know, this is my new blog so I’ve been configuring and testing all the techinical aspects of this blog this past week. Here’s something I’d like to share with you all. There are a number Christian t-shirts available on the market, but here are some of my own thoughts and inspirations on Christian t-shirts.

If you look around, you will find that the designs on a majority of Christian t-shirts are usually not as attractive as worldly designs. Not always, but usually. And why is this so? Perhaps most people don’t really think of a Christian t-shirt as something to make them look good in. People like wearing nice clothes but when it comes to Christian t-shirts, they simply think of it as just another ordinary t-shirt with some Christian text or picture on it. This seems to be the mentality of some Christian t-shirt manufacturers. And because of this, most t-shirt wearers, even though they may be Christian, prefer worldly t-shirts that they feel would make them look cool in.

Also, you may notice that many Christian t-shirts don’t have engaging messages on them. It may be a Bible verse or a Christian statement but if it is not effectively integrated into the design to make people take a second look, then what’s the point of putting it there in the first place? Many worldly t-shirt designs shout out some seemingly cool statement or display some cool looking graphic. Christian t-shirts should do the same and do it better! Amen?

Wearing a Christian t-shirt is really about making a statement in body, soul and spirit!

Here at cool4Christ™, we want our Christian t-shirts to reflect the glory, the goodness, the great love and the amazing grace of our magnificent God. We put our heart and soul into ensuring that every t-shirt design is really cool, making sure it communicates the message it carries with great impact. After all, it is written:

23 Whatever may be your task, work at it heartily (from the soul), as [something done] for the Lord and not for men,

24 Knowing [with all certainty] that it is from the Lord [and not from men] that you will receive the inheritance which is your [real] reward. [The One Whom] you are actually serving [is] the Lord Christ (the Messiah). - Colossians 3:23-24 (Amp)

Our label epitomizes the blessed life of today’s reigning Christian and even our uber cool, thought-provoking emblem is full of meaning.

cool4Christ™ Christian Apparel Emblem

The alphanumerics ‘c’, ‘4’, ‘C’ are the initials of the name of our label. You can find out more in our Credo about their meaning and how cool our emblem is.

In the coming days, I will be sharing more in detail about each part of our emblem and their significance. Do check back here often to see what’s new. And remember you are greatly blessed, highly favoured and deeply loved by God.
