A Wonderful Experience In Sydney And The Hillsong Conference 2008
Filed Under (Cool Happenings) by Kev1 on 21-07-2008
It’s been a week since I got back from Sydney, Australia after a really fantastic Hillsong Conference and I’m back to working on the t-shirts.
But I’ve also been sorting and captioning the photos of my trip and the conference for your viewing so do check them out in the photo gallery. My Sydney trip was great - exploring the city, checking out the sights and the food. I even managed to squeeze in a Blue Mountains day tour after the conference.
The conference was just awesome. Experiencing worship in the Acer Arena with the Hillsong team was simply out of this world. It’s like bringing down a piece of heaven - the atmosphere, the corporate worship anointing, the multitudes of people from all over the world, worshipping God with one accord… amazing… simply heaven. For those who weren’t there, here’s a sampling of what it was like.
There were good speakers too with lots of spiritual food. I especially liked Judah Smith whom I found to be a very engaging preacher. Mike Pilavachi was another one of my favorites with his British humor and exceedingly funny version of Bible stories.
Then there’s the renowned Joyce Meyer with her power-packed style.
But my favorite of favorites would have to be Joseph Prince with his messages overflowing with the grace of God, revelation after revelation, always pointing to our LORD Jesus and unveiling His loveliness. And guess what? He spoke about the Benjamin Generation! If you don’t know what that is, do check out my June 19 post. I know of people from the conference who say Joseph Prince rocks! But tell that to the man himself and he would be quick to remind you that it is Jesus Who rocks! Anyway, here’s an excerpt of that session by Joseph Prince.
Of course there were other highlights too. Israel Houghton was outstanding and Leeland was remarkable. God’s presence was all around and I believe the lives of many were truly and powerfully impacted and changed in profound ways. I thoroughly enjoyed Sydney, the Hillsong Conference, and the good company of my friends. To my friends (travel companions, hotel mates, and my new international friends), “Thank you all for being a part of my 10 wonderful days in Sydney!”
A special thanks goes out to Avril, MingLi (Ruth), PeiLi, Ruth Lim and Lip Kee for getting me a giant chocolate muffin for a birthday cake. By the way, my birthday happened to coincide with the day of my flight back home and it was the first time I ever spent my birthday in international skies!
Cool! I’d also like to thank all my birthday well wishers (verbal, SMS, via Facebook, etc.). I was just thinking… the best birthday gift I could get would be your prayer for God’s manifested blessings and abundant grace in all areas of my life.. mmm… Amen? And do remember to check out the photos I have to share.
